Short Films Session 7


The Short Films Sessions are ready-made-to-eat chunks of finely selected short films. They regularly fit in a 2-hour block in the festival film schedule.

WAY IN RYE (28 mins)
Directed by Goran Stankovic (USA).
During WWII, a Soviet farmer and his wife must protect a crate evacuated from Leningrad while awaiting news from their son fighting on the front.

REMEMBER? (14 mins)
Directed by Virginie Schwartz (France).
Léo and Victor are two very close friends. They share their memories, events they went through and the choices that have led them to this last confrontation. More than an discussion between two friends, the movie brings us back to a crucial time of French history.

LAST PENALTY (15 mins)
Directed by Max Miecchi (Italy).
The penalty kicker and the goalkeeper are opposite each other. The ball is positioned carefully by the penalty kicker. He’s about to kick the last penalty goal. The memories, emotions, moments and important decisions made in his life come to mind, bringing the story to an unexpected end.

MOUTH WIDE OPEN, EARS SHUT TIGHT (17 mins)
Directed by Tom Madar and Emlly Noy (Israel).
A day in the life of a young woman living a silent, lonely life with her friend the fish. The silence is broken when a new tenant comes to live in the apartment next door. Notwithstanding the constant sounds and noise penetrating through the other side of the wall and perhaps because of them, the young woman finds herself falling in love with her neighbor.

TIME TRAVELER (7 mins)
Directed by Romane Petiot (Cambodia).
Experimental video treating existential themes such as facticity, alienation and importance of choice of life. Created by a French Student from Raffles International College in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
